Improvise, Adapt and Overcome...
So, for this year I had to scrap the straw bale idea because there are no straw bales within 200 miles of me!
But, never fear. I have a back up plan: Totes filled with peat moss, grass clipping, sticks, alfalfa cubes, soil and chicken poo!
Interestingly enough, this system balances out to be right around the same cost as the straw bales.
I bought a 55 gallon garbage can and filled it with snow, to start my water reservoir. Once the totes are assembled, I'll pile remaining snow on top of them to ready the grow medium for the coming seedlings. I'm hoping to have the seedlings in by the first week of May! **crosses fingers**

Life!
Seedlings!!!
The garden is officially started!
Green beans, peas, rainbow bell peppers, green onions and an Italian Tomato Tree are the veggies going in. Herbs include: rosemary, parsley, sweet basil, sage and chives. I also have 3 sunflowers sprouted, to grow for the oil that is in their seeds. Fruit will be strawberry plants.
Due to property restrictions, I'm putting in a straw bale garden.
Example of a Straw Bale Garden
Basically, you put a thin layer of compost (I'm using horse manure/shavings), then a thicker layer of dirt, followed by more compost, mixed with mulch. Then you plant your seedlings directly into the mulch, and the roots grow down into the straw.
I'm also incorporating a rain barrel, to collect water for the garden.

OPSEC...
Operations security (OPSEC) is a process that identifies critical information to determine if friendly actions can be observed by adversary intelligence systems, determines if information obtained by adversaries could be interpreted to be useful to them, and then executes selected measures that eliminate or reduce adversary exploitation of friendly critical information.
Though the above statement is true in its official military format, OPSEC is the process of protecting little pieces of data that could be grouped together to give the bigger picture. OPSEC is the protecting of critical information deemed mission essential from military commanders. Protecting this critical information is through the use of email encryption software, careful of who may be listening to you (like in a hotel bar), paying close attention to a picture you have taken (back ground) or not talking openly on social media sites.
NOT TALKING OPENLY ON SOCIAL MEDIA SITES.

The Ra-tards: People who post pic's or speak of their guns/preps/ammo on the same forum as the one they bash the Government on. People who discuss strategy and operation readiness to rid their neighborhoods of people they presume a threat.
Ra-tards are people who are just BEGGING to get their door kicked in by the FBI, and are the ones who get Prepper forums put on 'watch lists" and worse, shut down.
If you must run your mouth to anyone who'll listen, then post your gun pic's on (sane) gun enthusiast board. Post your government rants on your Facebook or Twitter page where you alone are held accountable for your words, or in a forum who's basis is politics. Keep prepping about PREPPING on prepper forums.
